I know that John sang otherwise, and clearly it's a point of contention, but Paul basically has confirmed that Lennon/McCartney just wrote that lyric to have some fun with the fans who kept trying to guess at the answer.

John would have been 65 last week. Maybe we could have gotten a definite answer.

My obsession has taken a turn for the worse. Anyone know how I can stop it?
