all in the family
Her Honor sent the following email this morning:
I once witnessed a judge accuse him of "Hollywood lawyering" in the middle of a jury trial. But the jury wasn't in the courtroom at the time, so that doesn't count.
All morning I couldn't get this "chorus . . . line" thing resolved in my head, but now the whole idea makes sense. Little Bro actively participated in theatre for many years, until shortly into his college career he realized he could make more money as a psychologist. I myself had the lead role in the 4th Grade production of "Stone Soup." I played Wolfgang to great applause. Many of my cousins have spent time in theatre, and a few are active musicians.
So maybe there's something about the acting thing that translates into trial lawyering. Because we have a lot more of those.
What we really need is a family doctor. And not of the Ph.D. variety . . . ahem . . . Paige.
Dad is in a play. He has been going to rehearsals and will make his debut this weekend. While I've known for some time that theatric talent runs in the family, MJW, to my knowledge, has never displayed any interest in or capacity for theatrics, at least not outside a court of law.
It is a small part in an all male chorus . . . line. Kinda. I have not seen his stuff and will not until Saturday night. I have an extra ticket and am willing to buy more if any of you can come see your father on stage.
Depending on his performance you may then either sneak out before the finale' or stay and congratulate him on an astounding job.
Astounding, of course, can have many interpretations.
